A neighborhood is not a backdrop. It’s a memory system, a food system, a music system, a love story. Each night is co-produced with local hosts, merchants, artists and chefs — and each one ends in a room the city has never had before.

Compress 13.8 billion years into a single day. A visual timeline runs the length of the district, and every talk asks the same question: what had to happen for us to be here?

Demonstrations, sensory installations, longevity experiences, meditation and movement — asking what should remain human in an age of intelligent machines.
Mission Bay + DogpatchThe City Eats Together
The world's biggest dinner party. Restaurants become stages and chefs become storytellers, while galleries, bookstores, bars and makers launch Shift specials, drops and experiences.
Mission + Valencia + CastroThe Systems Floor
Companies show not only products but the futures those products imply. Every session asks what behavior, institution or story a technology makes more likely.
SoMa + Yerba Buena + DowntownFriday Night Fights
Walkout music, corners, a referee, tale-of-the-tape, cross-examination and audience scoring. Nobody wins unless the audience understands both positions better than when they walked in.
Civic CenterThe City Becomes a Cinema
Castro, Roxie and Mission venues form a walkable core while partner cinemas host screenings citywide. Future Visions is the signature competition.
